Frequently asked questions

How much will a survey cost?

The cost or a survey depends on many factors. These include the type, size, age and location of the vessel.

For example: a 2003 Beneteau 331 in the Bristol area would cost approximately £660 and a 1991 Nelson 45 in the Swansea area would be approximately £895

We do not charge travel costs for vessels up to 100 miles each way (by road).

These guide prices do not include a sea trial.

How long does it take to do a survey?

The length of time the survey takes depends on the size, age and condition of the vessel. The older the vessel, the more likely there is for significant faults to be detected.

As a guide, the Beneteau 331 mentioned above would probably take 5 to 7 hours and the Nelson 45, 7 to 9 hours.

How long after the survey will the report be published?

In most cases two or three working days. Sometimes up to a week, depending on the length and complexity of the survey. It should be noted that it is our normal practise to issue an invoice on the day of the inspection. The report would not be published until the invoice has been settled.
